French fashion powerhouse Balmain’s latest campaign is all about keeping it in the family. Based on the idea of the “unique and unconditional love of siblings”, creative director Olivier Rousteing has photographed some of the most loved fashionista-sister pairs in the media today. Featuring Gigi and Bella Hadid, Joan and Erika Smalls and of course Kendall and Kylie Jenner. This is one of the first high-fashion shoots baby Jenner has attempted, and she hasn’t let us (or big sis Kendall) down.

The whole campaign smoulders, and you can’t help but be drawn in by the intensity of the images. This is the kind of advertising we have come to expect from Balmain, sizzling yet foggy, and incredibly emotive. Photographer Mario Sorrenti has perfectly captured Olivier Rousteing’s vision of the bond of sisterhood between fierce, independent modern women.


It goes without saying the element which caught our eye initially was the black opaque hosiery. As timelessly classic as sisterly love, we can’t help but see a connection between the wardrobe staple and the bond between families. Never going out of style, and carrying us through each season, black opaque’s can be relied on time and time again, much like siblings. They support us by giving us coverage, boosting our confidence when we’re not feeling our best. They are there for any occasion, matching perfectly with our favourite ensembles, and making us feel ready for anything. Without black opaque tights the fashion world would be lost, searching for a friend. We know they will continue to maintain their appeal for many years to come, sticking by us through thick and thin.
