Falling in Love with Black Opaque's

opaque tights

Opaque tights have been around for many years now with a tendency to pose the question 'are opaque's really cool'?. The answer has remained similar throughout the last decade with a uniformed 'no'! As luck would have it however, they appear to be making a noisy comeback this season so for those of you who follow the trends religiously, now is the time to invest (if you haven't jumped on the band wagon already)! What are the benefits? That's easy! Not only do they look great, they keep the chill off our legs and let's face it, none of us enjoy walking in the great outdoors with goose bump clad pins! Bare legs are great for the summer and for those confident enough to share them with the world, but for many, we like a covering! So how do we know that opaque's are making a comeback, especially when the glossy magazines continue to feature models wearing knee length jumpers fashioned with a pair of Doc Martens and no tights? French fashion designer Hedi Slimane, the creative director for Saint Laurent Paris has presented his autumn/winter 2014 collection using models wearing black tights. Quite a statement we think! On the catwalk, modesty tights complemented mini-skirts and knee high boots, telling the world of fashion onlookers that opaque tights are back! And now to a lady who has persevered with opaque tights throughout. Kate Moss has often been spotted wearing them underneath shorts whilst out and about on her rounds. In contrast, Rhianna recently sported thigh high socks bearing a great resemblance to opaque tights whilst attending Miu Miu's autumn/winter show. These ladies are showing the nation just how to wear opaque's in the right manor such as with shorts, mini-skirts and by toning down loud outfits with a sheer black. Perfect! From fashion designers and their catwalk models to stars who know their outfits work, opaque tights are definitely making an appearance once again. Don't be caught short without this staple outfit item!
